CHARLOTTE, NC – On December 17, residents of Charlotte Emergency Housing took a road trip to Nexus Ministries to celebrate six birthdays.  The holiday-themed party was sponsored by the Beta Club from Queens Grant Community School.

The dinner, provided by volunteer party coordinator, Bronwyn Pressley, and her husband Mark included mouthwatering chicken and dumplings and lasagna.  The Beta Club treated everyone to a delicious birthday cake and (bonus!) cupcakes.

Lasting memories were created as each family made holiday crafts and trimmed miniature trees together, which they took back to their rooms at Charlotte Emergency Housing to enjoy throughout the holiday season.  Each child was presented with a new book and a stocking filled with goodies.

Help-Portrait participating photographers Lorayn DeLuca and Sean Merewood presented each family with professional portraits, a priceless gift visibly appreciated by all. Holiday cheer was in the air, and smiles and laughter abounded.

Two families who recently moved into Charlotte Emergency Housing were presented Blessing Baskets to celebrate the births of their babies. To top off the joyous celebration, a representative from Queens Grant Community School presented Birthday Blessings with a $253.04 check from a school-wide change collection drive.  What a blessing!
