CHARLOTTE, NC – This month, a group of Johnson & Wales marketing students invited the children and families living at Charlotte Emergency Housing to their Charlotte campus to celebrate the birthdays of two girls, aged 14 years and 3 years.

“Each child was presented with a sombrero as they arrived, and they were escorted to the cafeteria for a private taco dinner with all the fixings,” said volunteer party coordinator Bronwyn Pressley. The children were treated to face painting, goodie bags and fun fellowship at the Fiesta-themed party.

“Unfortunately, the weather put a damper on the outdoor activities the students had planned, like kickball and pin the tail on the donkey, but it certainly didn’t damper their spirits!” said Pressley.

A crew from WSOC/WAXN-TV came out to film the festivities and all of the smiling faces.  Check our site soon to watch the news clip!

Thanks to this caring group of students, professors, and JWU administrators for making this Birthday Blessings party so special for these children and families!
