CHARLOTTE, NC – We’re injecting some funky-rific fun into the mix, thanks to our newest sponsor, FunkyTown Parties.

FunkyTown Parties is the brainchild of owners Jennifer Mosblech and Erin Zitelli-Davis, who saw a need for a unique party facility that catered to families with older children. They founded FunkyTown Parties to provide entertaining and educational fun in a hip, engaging environment. In addition to parties, the south Charlotte business also offers camps, classes, and workshops for children of all ages.

Said Erin Zitelli-Davis: “The minute we heard of Birthday Blessings, we knew we wanted to be a part of such a wonderful organization. At the time, FunkyTown Parties was in the planning stages. Our hope and dream for FunkyTown was that our business be a great addition to the Charlotte community, offering fun things for families to do. We also wanted to find a way to give to the community. We just could not think of a better way than through Birthday Blessings. We are amazed at all the wonderful things Birthday Blessings does throughout Charlotte. Not only do we wish to help in any way we can, but we can only hope to follow in the footsteps of such a fantastic organization.”

FunkyTown Parties will be providing a “graffiti party” in August to the children and families living at the YWCA Families Together Program. Party-goers will be treated to graffiti hair (colored hairspray) tattoos, glow necklaces, and cool music.  FunkyTown’s party people will lead the kids in creating their own t-shirts using urban style stencils and fabric paint.

Mark your calendars for September 18 from 6-9 p.m., when FunkyTown Parties will be hosting their first Funky Family Disco Night to benefit Birthday Blessings. Bring your entire family to get down at FunkyTown for just $20, and FunkyTown will donate half of the proceeds to Birthday Blessings. There will be a live DJ spinning funky tunes, dancing, a laser show, drinks, and giveaways.  Owners Jennifer Mosblech and Erin Zitelli-Davis will be collecting donations of unwrapped toys so we can pass them along to the homeless children we serve.
